Description

Campsite holiday on the Quiberon peninsula, a complete change of scene

With its mild climate and generous sunshine, the Quiberon peninsula has some wonderful surprises in store for your campsite holiday between long sandy beaches to the east, and a fabulous coastal wilderness to the west. Wander through narrow streets in the typical villages of Brittany, head for the southern tip of the peninsula for a boat trip to the islands of the Gulf of Morbihan, and just go with the flow!

Discover a wealth of heritage during your campsite holiday on the Quiberon peninsula

History enthusiasts can roam between the multiple menhirs dotted across the region, including the famous Kerbourgnec megaliths in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. To the west, Turpault Castle, a mansion of Anglo-Medieval inspiration, towers above the tip of the wild coast. On the mainland, a multitude of chapels and churches invite you to visit during your campsite holiday. The Shrine of Sainte-Anne d’Auray is a must-see.

A whole programme of sports and leisure for your campsite holiday on the Quiberon Peninsula

Sports enthusiasts will be able to enjoy watersports to their heart’s content, such as surfing, sailing or paddleboarding. You’ll find a whole array of hiking trails and cycle paths, as well as bridleways for the less energetic, the perfect compromise for exploring this area of southern Brittany. For a more restful campsite holiday, treat yourself to a thalassotherapy session!

Our other favourites near the campsite

  • As for the local culinary delights, you’ll love the smoked fish and the canned sardines for which the region is famous! For foodies with a sweet tooth, try a crêpe washed down with a bowl of Pays d’Auray cider, or the local “niniches” (caramel lollipops), “salidou” (salted caramel), Quiberon biscuits, etc.
  • When it comes to tours and excursions, the Gulf of Morbihan has a few surprises in store for you. Visit the medieval heart of Vannes, the zoo and botanical park of Le Guerno, or the many museums and ecomuseums to be found in the region.
  • For nature lovers, there’s a multitude of islands to visit, as well as the dunal wilderness of Quiberon, and the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Nature Park where you can go bird-spotting. Unless of course you prefer recharging your batteries on a quiet walk in the forest.
